Premium Auditor, Senior

With minimal supervision, timely, accurately and efficiently performs audits of customer data,
including the more complex, less routine audits; maintains good customer relations; maintains
good working relations with co-workers and other company personnel. Substantial independent
action and judgment are required to make premium audit conclusions involving complex
coverage and factual issues.
Timely, accurately and efficiently:
1. Evaluates customer information and makes audit conclusions, including the selection of
support data and other information to support the audit conclusion;
2. Decides which customer records, payroll information and reports to audit;
3. Determines the time, means, manner and methods to be used in performing and
completing audits;
4. Identifies and advises management and underwriters about potential premium
payment problems;
5. Advises management and underwriters of changes in customer operations or
financial conditions;
6. Advises customers in establishing and maintaining audit records;
7. Develops, maintains and enhances good customer relations, including participation in the
branch agency business plan and the special customer business plan;
8. Develops, maintains and enhances good working relations with co-workers and other
company personnel with whom contact is necessary to perform her or his job
9. Mentors and helps train less experienced premium auditors.
Ability to:
1. Provide prompt, efficient and effective audit services to our customers;
2. Clearly, accurately and effectively communicate, both orally and in written
correspondence and both internally and externally, including with our customers and their
representatives and other third parties;
3. Develop, maintain and enhance good customer relations;
4. Timely and accurately recognize premium audit issues and to make appropriate decisions
regarding the audits, including judgments about complex factual situations;
5. Read, comprehend and interpret premium audit information;
6. Work independently and with minimal supervision, including frequently operating in the
field for several days a week;
7. Follow written and oral instructions;
8. Maintain regular, predictable attendance;
9. Work in a harmonious manner, accept supervision and directions and interact in a
cooperative and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, other company
personnel and customers;
10. Timely and accurately organize, prioritize and complete all job responsibilities, including
organizational and time-management abilities, without supervision and within assigned
11. Maintain a high level of quality audit work and output;
12. Hear, see and talk to effectively communicate in person and by telephone with
supervisors, co-workers, other company personnel, customers and their representatives
and other third parties;
13. Read and understand written documents, including insurance and policy terms and other
factual information;
14. Frequently work on several tasks at the same time within assigned deadlines;
15. Frequently work rapidly and with intense concentration for long periods of time;
16. Frequently travel between different off-site locations or overnight in an expeditious
17. Frequently sit at a desk or other work station for extended periods of time;
18. Occasionally lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 15 pounds;
19. Routinely bend, kneel, reach, see, be mobile and walk around;
20. Frequently drive an automobile for extended periods of time, doing so in a safe manner;
21. Efficiently utilize a computer and job related software to perform her or his job
