Are you an actuarial professional ready to take the next step in your career with a well-established insurance organization serving niche markets across the U.S.? We are partnering with a respected client to identify an Associate Actuary to join their collaborative Actuarial & Analytics team. This position offers a hybrid schedule and will include occasional travel to regional office locations and client sites.

💼 Position Summary

The Associate Actuary will be responsible for developing and maintaining actuarial tools, models, and forecasts that support key business objectives across underwriting, claims, and finance. This is a strategic role with the opportunity to impact both corporate planning and product performance.


📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial projections and long-term forecasts to support strategic planning

  • Collaborate with Claims, Finance, and Underwriting teams to integrate actuarial insights into decision-making

  • Perform loss development and IBNR reserve studies

  • Conduct rate indications and rate adequacy reviews

  • Build and maintain experience and exposure-based rating models

  • Apply statistical modeling and forecasting techniques to provide actionable insights

  • Develop algorithms for IBNR allocation and segment-level financial analysis

  • Investigate new data trends and present findings to leadership

  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Provide mentorship and support internal training initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned


🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years of P&C actuarial experience, with 2+ years in rate making and/or corporate planning

  • ACAS designation (or near ACAS with strong progress toward completion) highly preferred

  • Proven ability to translate complex actuarial analysis into business-ready recommendations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Access, R, and SQL strongly preferred

  • Ability to work effectively across departments and with all levels of leadership

  • Office-based environment with hybrid flexibility

  • Must be comfortable working in both in-person and virtual settings as needed

  • Occasional travel and overnight stays required
