Personal Lines Account Manager

Reports to: Personal Insurance Department Manager

The Personal Lines Account Manager will provide exceptional service to customers, producers and co-workers.
This position will require a thorough knowledge of insurance products available through the agency and for maintaining an assigned book of business, as well as being responsible for customer retention and customer satisfaction.
Responsible to provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts and other revenue generating activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Receives and administers calls and inquiries from customers and companies regarding insurance coverage, claims or administrative requests
 Maintains suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, tasks, and correspondence as well as reports and follows up on overdue and suspense items
 Completes renewal review process and communicates coverage recommendations to the client
 Responsible for field underwriting on all new risks and ongoing risk management to ensure all exposures meet agency standards and guidelines
 Markets new business, determines premiums, prepares and presents quotes to customers and maintains underwriting and marketing information by carrier
 Identifies and capitalizes on new business and account rounding opportunities within assigned book of
 Follow all agency procedures and guidelines
 Maintain electronic and/or paper files in accordance with agency standards and guidelines
 Performs special projects at management request as well as all other related duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements:

 Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
 Full time position must be in the office and available during hours of operation
 Travel between clients and company locations, as needed
 Bending, sitting, and lifting 10 lbs.
Skills & Competencies:
 Must possess excellent written & oral communication skills
 Essential to be able to work both independently and within a team environment
 Service-oriented and able to advocate on behalf of the client
 Proficient in Microsoft and the ability to learn new industry specific software, as needed
Education & Experience (preferred):
 College degree or equivalent job related experience
 Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal lines underwriting and marketing
 Must have current insurance license in accordance with state requirements
