Position Overview:
The James Allen Companies Inc is partnering with a respected insurance organization to identify a Private Client Placement Specialist based in Richmond, VA. This role is ideal for a seasoned insurance professional with a background in personal lines who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at building strong relationships with agency partners and carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review new business submissions and assess viability based on class of business, underwriting guidelines, and timelines.

• Quote and bind new and renewal personal lines business, coordinating with insurance carriers to secure optimal coverage.

• Build and maintain relationships with agency partners, helping to identify and act on cross-sell opportunities.

• Stay current on underwriting practices, carrier appetites, coverage trends, and relevant insurance regulations.

• Maintain thorough and organized electronic files in line with standard procedures.

• Proactively follow up on outstanding quotes and applications to ensure timely binding and policy issuance.

• Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service to all agency and carrier partners.

• Contribute to the achievement of individual and team premium goals.

• Assist with special projects and duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field—or at least 8 years of relevant personal lines insurance experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in personal lines placement or underwriting.

• Strong working knowledge of personal lines products, coverages, and carrier markets.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Applied Epic is a plus.

• Proven problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
