OVERVIEW:

This individual will help guide the Company’s go-to-market strategy and help expand its distribution network with insurance brokers and other key insurance industry “influencers”. In this capacity, he/she will manage a team of business development executives in expanding the Company’s insurance brokerage network, build strategic relationships with national insurance brokers, develop sales strategies and work with the Company’s business development officers to prioritize the sales and marketing initiatives.

We are a leader in providing insurance solutions to member-owned group captives. The Company’s professionals support every aspect of the group captives they advise, from safety and claims advocacy to operational oversight, risk management, financial services, investment services and more. Today, we oversee 33 captive insurance companies with over 3500 members and combined premium of over $2.0 billion.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze current distribution footprint and identify gaps and prioritize outreach to high potential new and existing brokerage partners
  • Design sales strategy initiatives and goals for business development executives and managers of the group captives
  • Help build relationships with large, strategic insurance brokerage firms
  • Track broker outreach efforts on an ongoing basis and measure resulting productivity
  • Partner with the communications team to refine the Company’s marketing message
  • Oversee management of the Company’s CRM system
  • Manage the business development team and the marketing budget

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related fields, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in the insurance industry, ideally focused on mid-market P&C insurance
  • Experience managing a team of sales and marketing professionals of 5 -10 people
  • Experience working with regional and national insurance brokerage organizations

 

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

  • Self-starter who is capable of building and leading
  • Metrics-oriented leader with strong analytical skills, business judgement and experience assessing sales strategies
  • Experience building dashboards and reports from CRM platforms
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with senior executives internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to company values and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to travel (10% - 20% of time)
