Personal Lines Account Manager
To serve and grow the book of clients assigned to you by providing extraordinary service, educating clients, identifying revenue growth opportunities, and generating referrals. Personal Lines Account Manager focus on growth within their current book of business while also supporting team members with administrative duties.
Desired Outcomes of This Role
1. Maintain Retention Above 90%
Average retention on the book of business should remain above 90%. This is based on the number of policies up for renewal each month compared to the number of cancelled policies processed that month. The average over any 90-day period should be greater than 90%.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively reaching out to clients
- Conducting ongoing account reviews
- Working with clients on their policies
- Effectively rounding accounts
- Generating referrals for Personal Lines and other departments, including Life Insurance
- Educating clients on the benefits of working with Community Insurance Partners
2. Generate Additional Revenue Within the Book of Business
Generate additional revenue through increased coverage, account rounding, policy enhancements, and referrals for new business, including Life Insurance.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting account reviews
- Suggesting and selling umbrella, flood, life, recreational vehicle, and other insurance products
- Asking clients for referrals
- Stopping, listening, and asking questions to clearly understand client needs and build strong relationships
3. Personal Lines Sales Responsibilities
Follow agency standards to sell policies that meet agency criteria for Property and Casualty and Life Insurance.
Responsibilities include:
- Handling inbound calls, website contact forms, and walk-in customers looking for insurance
- Marketing accounts and presenting proposals
- Placing business according to agency goals
- Stopping, listening, and asking questions to clearly understand client needs and build strong relationships
- Identifying training needs with assistance from the team
- Taking responsibility for regularly learning and improving technical and sales skills
4. Follow the New Business Sales Process
Follow the agency’s new business sales process for both Property and Casualty and Life Insurance.
Responsibilities include:
- Connecting with new inbound inquiries the same day
- Making 3 to 4 follow-up phone calls on new web business
- Making 3 to 4 follow-up phone calls after presenting pricing
- Asking for referrals
- Using strategies to sell policy features and benefits rather than competing solely on price
- Updating the agency management system according to established processes
- Prequalifying insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk
- Obtaining signed applications and payment, binding coverage, and completing all underwriting requirements
5. Conduct Account Reviews
- Complete 100% of assigned account reviews each week
