SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Job Description

Summary / Objective

This position is responsible for leading and executing the enterprise sales and business development strategy, including prospecting, in-person selling, and remote selling. In this role, the Senior Vice President of Business Development will be responsible and accountable for growing and diversifying the company’s various operating divisions.

This individual will assist in the development of sales strategies, establish sales attainment goals, and monitor and report on sales activity and progress. The role also includes managing key business relationships, including contract negotiation, rate discussions, and escalation management.

  • Learn the company’s processes, account management structure, operational performance, competitive landscape, pricing strategies, and related business practices.
  • Understand the company’s mission, core values, and service commitment.
  • Sell the company’s various operational divisions and clearly communicate how each division supports customers and business partners.
  • Prepare or contribute to weekly and monthly reports by diligently documenting activities within the company’s CRM system.
  • Prepare customer presentations and contribute to marketing materials, including proposals and formal solicitation responses.
  • Lead sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities where the company does not have an existing relationship or is not actively receiving business.
  • Vet leads to ensure each opportunity is with a viable business partner positioned for growth and capable of meeting payment terms.
  • Enhance and nurture existing business relationships.
  • Respond to all emails, texts, and phone calls from team members, operations, and business partners in a timely manner.
  • Utilize company-approved technology to track sales leads, meetings, proposals, client communication, and related correspondence.
  • Attend requested meetings, industry associations, supplier events, customer events, and conferences.
  • Perform other projects and tasks as required.
